One thing that's strange is how many issues seem to have a correlation even though they shouldn't ...
Would you get upset if I hit like about 100 times?!?!?!?!?! I thought no one got it.
i'm sure many people, republicans included, are shocked at the results of the 2016 presidential election.
really, wtf!.
the polls were wrong and although it's tempting to blame voter suppression and fbi interference, that would just avoid looking at the real issues for the loss.

Aww.. how awful for you and thanks for sharing your lived experience.
It is good that you found a candidate who does not brag about sexually harassing members of YOUR sex and do not advocate unconstitutional and racist ideas against members of YOUR race.
And I also think it is helpful that you frame this as being a race/gender issue. Like, when crazy feminists say that men should be castrated, or BLM protestors lay hate onto the police.
Is it not reassuring and comforting to picture yourself in the victim position and get a good in-outgroup dynamic going? It simplifies everything, and gives a sense of moral superiority, where YOU do not have to think about what YOUR group does because YOU are the victim.
Oh wait, perhaps that only applies to "them"?
And this is why your little mind will never comprehend why Clinton lost.

Clinton lost my vote because she, and the democratic party demonized me. I am a 40 something white male. I have been made to feel that my mere existence is evil and I owe everyone something. Sorry, but I don't. I am not evil. And I refuse to support ANYONE or ANY Party that wants to try to make me feel that way.
Worse thing is my views, as they evolve after leaving this cult, are more aligned with the economic stances of the democrats than the republicans. But how could any sane individual follow, elect, and support someone who hates you? Hates your existence?
we all know that education is severely demonized in this religion.
and that the elders are appointed based on how many meetings they attend, hours they put in on the ministry and general attitude to other elders (as apposed to, you know, actual theological training and counseling) - so my question is, what were your elders occupations outside the kingdom hall?.
in my old congregation our elders consisted of:.
My list is just about identical!HappyDad
1970's through the 1990's.
Retired blacksmith
Steelworker (4 of them)
Machinist (myself)
Wallpaper hanger
Factory worker
Hospital kitchen worker
Chemist
Electrical engineer (got his education before becoming a JW)
Salesman
Heating and air-conditioning business owner
Personnel manager (educated before becoming a JW)
Project manager for an engineering company
Don't remember some of them.
i guess this is not so much about guilt, per se, but more so if you feel an obligation to reveal what you now know about ttatt, to those who you have studied with, taught the "truth" to, and are still in the borg ?.
i am sure most of us, after learning about the evils, and lies perpetrated by this organization, must feel some sort of guilt for being the catalyst in "exposing" others to the cult.
honestly, i feel none of us should actually, feel guilty though.
....In a conversation with my wonderful daughter (who is also out) I asked if she thought it would be a good idea to write this guy/brother to tell him my story. She said that I should. So far, I haven't done it.
He had his own problems with the JW's and was upset about a lot of crap with the religion when I last talked to him.
What do you guys think? Should I write to him or not?
Well, if you need a middle man, I may be able to help.
just a quick question.
who actually writes the awake!
and the watchtower publications ?
I believe it is overseen by the Writing Committee of the Governing Body.
there appear to be some people who are of the mistaken opinion that endlessly clicking the like or dislike button 20x will mean 20x votes.. it doesn't !!!.
only one vote is ever counted.
1 user, 1 vote, each post.
Interesting....if I press like or dislike, it doesn't show unless I refresh the page. I have, on occasion, pressed the living hell out of either button with no change (at least that is what I thought!) But after pressing like and refreshing my browser with your original post, I see they do count! My bad, sorry!!!
would a brother who is an elder or ministerial servant be looked down upon or ostracized for endeavoring into high education?.
the reason i am asking this question is because i know of a ms who went to and graduated college (us) with a masters in science and engineering.
he also taught these subjects at an adult education program.
I was an MS and going for my degree in Civil Engineering. When one eldumb found out, he did everything in his power to get me removed. He failed, mainly because I was a 20hr/month publisher and the CO pointed out that I was more active in the ministry than he was.
i have a favor to ask.
i need some information found in a watchtower that i can't seem to find in my library.
today, the watchtower teaches that the governing body is the faithful slave.
Watchtower 1981 February 15 pp.17-19 Do We Need Help to Understand the Bible?
pg. 19 says...
OUR VIEW OF THE "SLAVE"
We can benefit from this consideration. If we have once established what instrument God is using as his "slave" to dispense spiritual food to his people, surely Jehovah is not pleased if we receive that food as though it might contain something harmful. We should have confidence in the channel God is using. At the Brooklyn headquarters from which the Bible publications of Jehovah's Witnesses emanate there are more mature Christian elders, both of the "remnant" and of the "other sheep," than anywhere else upon earth.
im not a jw and never was but had a bad encounter with one , ie my gf was one .
anyway , i was wondering if fb pages are actually allowed , i thought the wt frowned upon them ?
here is one i discus in regularly , maybe take a look and leave a comment on the tripe they write , it looks very well done and presented ,https://www.facebook.com/honor.jehovah/.
10 years ago, it was verboten. They had assembly parts, convention parts, etc... warning about the evils of social networking sites like Facebook. Now, well...the flip flop has begun, Even though I still hear ones that are still in being cautious of it, many are ignoring it and doing what they want. Even some of their pubs have recently talked about 'internet witnessing' if I am not mistaken.
